GETTING FAMOUS ON THE WORLD WIDE WEB: Martin Boylan’s article in the resource section of writing.ie, details his experience in setting up his writer’s website, martinboylan.com. A platform where readers can access his novel ” The Jealous God”, set in the Belfast of the fifties about the relationship between a charismatic Protestant minister, a teenage Catholic girl and her family; or listen online to his Councillor O Toole radio comedy series, first broadcast by Channel 4 radio, on the trials and tribulations of a Dublin councillor standing for election to the Dail; and the wider issue, why should a writer set up an website and just how effective is it in promoting his writing?

Nesta Tuomey is an award-winning short story writer and the author of two published novels. Up Up and Away published by Emperor Publishing and Like One of the Family published by Mount Eagle Publications. She flew as an air hostess with Aer Lingus and began writing for radio, her stories and plays have been broadcast on BBC and RTE. A winner of the John Power Short Story Award at Listowel and the Image/ Oil of Ulay Short Story Competition, her stories have been published widely in magazines. Nesta’s One Act Play Whose Baby won the O.Z. Whitehead Play Competition in 1996. She lives with her husband in Dundrum, Dublin, Ireland. You can view all her books here.
