About our Committee

Chair – Anne Le Marquand Hartigan

Anne HartiganAnne has published five collections of poetry and a personal meditation on the “Why of Writing”. She has had several plays performed professionally, and in 1995 won the Irish section of the Mobil International Playwrights competition. Her play La Corbiere is published in the collection Seen and Heard (Carysfort Press). She has had short stories and poems published in many anthologies in America, Britain and Ireland, and has given poetry readings and workshops in the States, UK, New Zealand, Hungary, Romania and Ireland.

Carol Robinson Tweed

Carol represents our Associate Members. She originally graduated in history and politics, before qualifying in social

 work and psychology. She has worked in social services, probation and welfare, psychometrics and careers analysis. Carol has had many articles published in newspapers, journals and magazines and is currently the editor of a magazine.

 

Caroline BradyCaroline Brady

Caroline Brady has enjoyed several short-listings and wins with short stories, most recently being the Amergin International Short Story Award presented by the Drogheda Arts Council for A Bee in the Chardonnay. Caroline is working on a novel, the first chapter of which won the Writing Writers UK A Novel Start competition. She has also completed a screenplay which was performed in October 2009 in the Attic Studio. Caroline is an active member of the Eblana Writers’ Group. www.eblana-writers.com

Catherine Daly

Catherine DalyOriginally a pharmacist, Catherine has had three novels – All Shook Up, Charlotte’s Way and A French Affair – published since 2004.  Dee Cunningham, Minutes Secretary

Dee has published two novels,  A Very Private Affair and A Life of Her Own; and a number of short stories. Hobbies: swimming, painting and public speaking. She lives in Dublin close to some of her children and grandchildren, and is currently working on a new novel.

Joe Armstrong

Joe ArmstrongJoe Armstrong is the former Managing Editor for Ireland for an international academic publisher. He is author of Men’s Health – the Common Sense Approach, Write Way to Stop Smoking, Workplace Stress in Ireland, The NUJ and Your Rights at Work, and joint author with Ian Montgomery of From Special Care to Specialist Treatment: A History of Muckamore Abbey. www.joearmstrong.ie

Mary Rose Callaghan

Mary Rose Callaghan has written nine novels, including Billy,Come Home, (2007) and A Bit of a Scandal (2009). Her short stories have appeared in many publications, while her non-fiction includes Kitty O’Shea (1998), a biography of Katharine Parnell, also book reviews and critical articles.  She has edited a poetry anthology Jumping the Bus Queue (2000).

Fr. J. Anthony Gaughan

Fr GaughanJ Anthony Gaughan, PhD, D.Litt, is a parish priest, writer and historian. He has published 24 books on a wide range of subjects. His book Scouting in Ireland was launched at Writers’ Week, Listowel in 2006.
